Personal Injury Registration Deadline

Companies dealing with matters of personal injury, claims referrals and general claims management services for those seeking compensation need to be careful they don’t miss the official deadlines for registration.

Under Part 1 of the new Compensation Act 2006 all companies who fit the criteria must register with the Constitutional Affairs Department in Burton who are controlling the new legislation.

The deadline drops on the 16 February 2007 and it appears that many more than expected have applied for forms but over six hundred have not been returned. One of the main concerns is that many independent and even large scale personal lines insurance brokers have not signed up to the compulsory requirement.

There is also expected to be a compulsory requirement for professional indemnity insurance to be held by all claims management companies operating within these new guidelines. Part 2 of the Compensation Act is expected to come into force in April.

Insurance Brokers dealing with such personal injury compensation referrals had better get their skates on.
