Mobile Phone Users to Face Further Penalties

Since the 1st February 2003 driver on British roads have been imposed with the law preventing them from using their mobile phones whilst driving. With a �30 fixed penalty fine for breaking this law it seems many are completely oblivious to it and indeed openly flaunt the law.

From a road traffic accident perspective the use of the mobile phone has been proven to be a distractive influence that has indeed resulted in many road traffic accidents and respective personal injury related accidents. In a bid to try and influence drivers further and to make many sit up and listen the Government has released proposals to up the anti on penalties by raising the fine to �60 and also introducing a three point penalty to go onto the perpetrators driving licence.
