Room for Fraud

Added – 22/05/2007

Top fraud law firm Keoghs have announced their views on the recent DCA proposals, intended to offer solutions to the issue of costs within the injury claims system. They believe there are fundamental flaws particularly within the proposed time frame deadlines that are suggested for such injury claims cases.

In their specialised field they appreciate that fraudsters are becoming more and more sophisticated and elaborate in their design when attempting to defraud the insurance compensation system. Keoghs believe that unless the insurance companies have extremely efficient detection and analysis procedures in place they will find themselves having admitted liability for injury claims only to find much later on they are in fact dealing with a suspect case.

The injury claims deadlines are proposed as a measure to address inefficiencies in the way cases have been administered in the past but is this now an oversight on the room for fraud on a grand scale. The new proposed guidelines include a fifteen days limitation for admitting liability in motor related injury compensation claims which by anybodys standards does not offer much time to transfer letters let alone investigate the details of the claim.

Email is no doubt going to become the next essential form of communication!
