A West Midlands woman is trying to claim compensation from local hospital after they refused to carryout an operation she was booked in for
The woman had booked the operation under the popular Choose and Book Scheme but later then found out that the hospital had cancelled the operation because of her weight.
She wants to claim compensation because she believes the hospital
had not informed her correctly about the procedures involved and also
because she had cancelled a holiday that was booked at the time of the
proposed holiday time, amongst other related costs that had been
incurred.
The woman is also suffering on going pain and discomfort due to delays of the operation. Despite wanting to claim compensation
for these matters she fully appreciates that the hospital has a duty of
care in not carrying out certain medical procedures when the patient is
overweight to the point that complications could lead to life
threatening circumstances but believes certain circumstances in this
instance could have been avoided.
